Welcome to Oahu Anime Explorer!
Mission Statement
Our mission is to seek out the latest Anime and present it in its original language with accurate subtitling. We believe that Anime and Manga are a doorway to Japan, building the desire to learn, as well as providing enjoyable exposure to the Japanese language and cultural norms. We also believe that through other activities such as travel, karaoke, and participation in local cultural events, we can further gain understanding and appreciation of the Japanese culture. We of the OAE wish to increase contact and interchange between all fans of Anime and Manga by acting as liaison between Anime and Japanese clubs of all kinds throughout the islands.
Upcoming Events
ANIME EXPO 2008
Anime Expo 2008, at Los Angeles Convention Center July 3rd to July 6th. We will leave the night of July 1st, and return on July 7th. When we arrive on the morning of the 2nd, we will be going to get out credentials, and yes, WE CAN START COSPLAYING FROM THEN! We will be posting information on this shortly.
Halloween in Waikiki 2008
Once again, we hit the streets showing everyone what cosplay is about! The current list of things to do, is for dinner at Gyukaku at 6pm, then walking about the streets of Waikiki until around 10:30 or 11pm. After that, it is off to GS Studio for a night of Karaoke until the place closes! After that, we have a new hotel we are going to try out. There will be information on who is dressing up as what here shortly.
Weekend Karaoke Sessions!
Some of our members have been taking advantage of the really cool rates that GS Studios offer us on weekends during the day. We will be posting up dates when we go, as it will be at least twice a month on sunday afternoons. If you are intending on joining us, we need you to let us know the week before if you are joining us for a particular date, so we can let GS studio know how many of us are coming.

Anime in the Limelight...
They are back! Max and the Anime in the Limelight are back on the internet radio waves! Since 1997, former J.A.S.H. members and Hawaii residents now residing in Las Vegas were putting on this radio show for all anime otakus in Hawaii. Recently, these guys pulled up stakes and moved to Sin City. Now, in 2008 they restarted the show and here it is! I've know Max for the longest time, and when he's back in Hawaii we always have a great time with the gang here. Hopefully, you will enjoy this internet radio show as much as we do!
